END OF SEASON FEEDBACK FROM JONNY 2025:
Technical
-You had that training session where you showed your left footed crosses. You must have hit 10/12 almost perfect that night. Those times where you anticipate the pass going to their winger and you step in and intercept it…that first touch is almost always spot on. Good range of passing, shooting and crossing. It can all get better and more accurate.
Tactical
-You are starting to apply some things to your game as a fullback. Overlapping to get us into the attack. Tucking in towards the holding midfielder when we are attacking a wide area from the weakside. You were big time for us in the State Cup final in that first half when you had to step high. Your 1v1 defending was outstanding down by our goal line too and I think they could have had several more corner kicks if it wasn’t for your defending.
Physical
-The Goulding kids are all tough. Overall really good balance, agility, pace, change of direction, endurance. You sure do a lot of activities to get that way, keep that stuff up.
Psycho-social
-You’ve become much more consistent with your play. We know what we are going to get with you pretty much every time you step on the field. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen you play below your par. When your team can depend on you every day you are doing good things with your game in this area.
LETTER FROM JONNY:
Hello Coaches,
I am writing this letter of reference on behalf of Sienna Goulding who I have coached inyouth soccer for the last three years. Sienna is working very hard on her recruiting
process to play college soccer and I am hoping this letter will help you see that. I am
currently the Head Men’s Soccer Coach at Utah Tech University (NCAA DI) and am
trying to help Sienna reach her goal.
I have been a college soccer coach for the last 13 years; all of which I have also
coached youth soccer on the side. Sienna has been just as proactive with her recruiting tactics and efforts as any player I have worked with. I am impressed with her drive and actions to get in front of college coaches and research of programs. Most players can view the recruiting process as daunting and intimidating, especially if they grew up in smaller cities and towns that might not have the same exposure to college coaches. One of Sienna’s special characteristics is that she is not intimidated or shy to put herself out there. She is not afraid to “mess up” with this process. She takes chances and that personality trait of hers is shown also when she plays. Sienna’s mentality of believing she can reach her goal, that as her coach, has me believing in her as well. Sienna is definitely driving all of this and it motivates me to help her.
Sienna comes from an unbelievable family of support. All her siblings (4) play and
succeed in sports and somehow Mom and Dad (Nicole and Dusky) help make it all
happen. I can’ t help but be impressed with the family Sienna comes from. Sienna and her siblings from a young age have had “farm life” responsibilities of taking care of several farm animals. This is one of the reasons I see in Sienna’s play that she is tough. Sienna plays tough, but as I mentioned before her mindset and perspective is tough.
That tough mindset and perspective is not a common attribute and characteristic in youth these days. I believe it has set her apart and makes her unique.
With Sienna’s proactive approach towards recruiting and her tough play and mindset, you will see she is a unique individual. I believe these character traits will help her achieve more over the next year while she continues to learn and improve her skills.
Please reach out to me to discuss Sienna. I am honored to be her coach and that she is seeking my help and that comes from seeing her effort. I appreciate your time in reading this and hope to hear from you soon!

“I highly recommend Sienna Goulding for your college soccer program. I
have had the privilege of coaching her for the past 3 years as the head coach of the Hurricane HS soccer team, and I can confidently say that she is one of the most exceptional players I have worked with during my career in high school athletics.
Sienna possesses a combination of athleticism, technical skill, and leadership qualities that are rarely seen in young athletes. She has demonstrated an outstanding level of commitment and work ethic both on and off the field, consistently pushing herself to improve and elevate the performance of the entire team. As a player, she has remarkable speed, agility, and precision, excelling in both offensive and defensive positions. Sienna is also an excellent team player who understands the importance of communication and collaboration on the field.
Beyond technical skills, she brings an unmatched passion and love for the game. Sienna leads by example, inspiring teammates to give their best effort in every practice and game. Her sportsmanship and positive attitude make her a role model within our program, and she is always willing to mentor younger players and contribute to building a cohesive, competitive team.
Rafael Novoa
Hurricane HS Head Coach

I have known Sienna for a number of years both as a friend and a coach for ODP. I can say with confidence, Sienna is a dedicated student athlete who is capable of setting a solid example with her efforts on and off the field.
The word that I associate with this young player is “effort”. She has always given her greatest effort while on the field. As an attacking player, she has faced many strong defenders from across the western states. Our ODP schedule consisted of playing teams with many Division I recruits. Stanford, Arizona, Arizona State, BYU and University of Utah are a few schools that had recruited players and they showcased their skills at ODP championships. Sienna never complained about anything, making her a very coachable player. She came to training to improve individually and also as a team player. Sienna’s commitment to any activity she is involved in is one her finest qualities.
Sienna’s goal is to become a college soccer player. Over the years I have known her, she has portrayed great enthusiasm in everything she puts her mind too. I have also seen her portray the discipline and commitment necessary to become a successful player at the next level. She would be a great asset to any school. -Nick Nield
